Interview with GMP translator and pharmaceutical interpreter Alexander Podarewski on Pharmprom.ru

Interview with GMP translator and pharmaceutical interpreter Alexander Podarewski

The December 2023 issue of PHARMPROM, one of the leading Russian trade journals for the pharmaceutical industry, featured an interview with Mr Alexander Podarewski, Managing Director of GMP-inspection.com. It was a special honour for us to be the exclusive partner of this edition.

Various topics were addressed during the conversation. Mr Podarewski gave recommendations on how a pharmaceutical company can find a professional pharmaceutical interpreter and what is particularly important when looking for a specialised GMP translator. As an experienced GMP interpreter with more than 50 GMP inspections under his belt in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan for both human and veterinary medicines, and with many years of professional experience in the GMP field, Mr Podarewski gave readers of the digital trade journal a glimpse behind the scenes of work in the highly technical field of pharmaceuticals.

The interview also covers how to become a GMP translator or pharmaceutical interpreter. Is a university degree necessary? Is it sufficient for the interpreter to simply have a very good command of both working languages? What is the professional level of the interpreters and translators from Russia and other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)? The luminary of GMP interpreting takes a stand and reports on various options for entering the world of GMP.

In this interview, Mr Podarewski also briefly discusses the cooperation between the representatives of the inspected site, Russian GMP inspectors and the GMP translators or pharmaceutical interpreters, as well as some interesting anecdotes from his numerous GMP inspections.
