They are similar to human drugs, but are specifically developed for use in veterinary medicine.

Products used on animals include, among others:

• Drugs: These are administered in the form of tablets, injections, ointments, solutions or other forms for the treatment or control of animal diseases. These may be antibiotics, antiparasitics, painkillers, etc.
• Vaccines: Veterinary vaccines (German translation: Impfstoffe) are used to stimulate the immune system of animals and protect them against various infectious diseases.
• Feed supplements: These include vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other supplements used to ensure proper nutrition and animal health.
• Diagnostic tests: Veterinary diagnostic tests are used to determine whether or not an animal has a disease.
• Care and hygiene products: These include shampoos, parasite control and wound care products as well as other products that ensure the health and well-being of animals.
• Products for parasite control: Contains products against fleas, ticks (German: Zecken), worms and other pests.
